Demography/Social Sciences : Laureates Called To Transform Africa

This was during the graduation ceremony of the 45th cohorts from IFORD, chaired by the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, on September 5, 2025 in Yaounde.

On behalf of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Jacques Fame Ndongo, has conveyed to the 63 graduates of the Institute for Training and Demographic Research (IFORD) that the African continent holds high expectations for their contributions to development, given their expertise as population scientists. He made the remarks during the convocation ceremony of IFORD's 45th cohort of Professional Master's Degree students in Demography, held on Friday, September 5, 2025, in Yaounde. The graduating class was named: "Promotion Félix Moloua" in honour of the Prime Minister of the Central African Republic and former IFORD student. The ceremony underscored the values of excellence, regional solidarity, and professional commitment that have been the hallmark of IFORD since its inception in 1971.
Addressing the graduates, Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo entrusted them with a mandate marked by duty and an obligation to uphold ethics in their daily professional endeavours. “Your proven expertise, unwavering enthusiasm, and boundless creativity are essential assets in meeting the complex challenges of today's and tomorrow's world,” the Minister of Higher Education emphasised. He added that the graduates hold the key to solving the problems faced by contemporary African societies.
