Yaounde : 800 Children Receive Didactic Materials

The Babanya's Youth Association made the donations on Saturday September 6, 2025.


Education is the key to success and the pathway to a brighter future. Against this backdrop, approximately 800 children from vulnerable families in the Ekoudou-Briqueterie neighbourhood of Yaounde over the weekend, received essential school supplies to ensure a smooth start to the 2025-2026 academic year. The initiative was part of a traditional event organised by the Babanya's Youth Association, aimed at supporting students from disadvantaged families in the Yaoundé II municipality and its surroundings.
The event was honoured by the presence of the Minister of Social Affairs, Pauline Irène Nguene, who commended the association's initiative in raising awareness about the positive impact of promoting education and well-being. 
The President of the Organising Committee, Mohaman Salissou Awal, stated that the association was marking its 11th anniversary of dedication to combating under-education in the Yaounde II municipality. Established in 2014 by a group of young individuals from the Babanya family, Mohaman Salissou Awal explained that, the organisation was founded with the primary objective of addressing the issue of under-education within the community.
