Ahead of UN General Assembly : Cameroon, US Exchange Views

Minister Felix Mbayu yesterday September 4, 2025 received in audience Ambassador Christopher John Lamora.

The 80th United Nations General Assembly opens on September 9, 2025 in New York and in participation will be member States of the international organisation. Prior to the high level event which equally marks the end of the mandate of the Cameroon at the Presidency of the 79th session, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu granted an audience to the United States Ambassador to Cameroon, Christopher John Lamora on September 4, 2025. In the course of the audience, the two personalities exchanged their prospects in engaging in debates. 
Ambassador Christopher John Lamora congratulated the mandate of Cameroon at the helm of the session for the last one year. “The Minister and I had a very good and far-reaching conversation. We talked a lot about the upcoming UN General Assembly and what Cameroon is going to be doing in New York. I congratulated him on the end of the Presidency of the General Assembly where the former Prime Minister Philemon Yang has done an excellent job as the President of the UN General Assembly for the past year. I talked to him about American priorities in New York as well,” the US diplomat told reporters after the audience.
